I wasn't planning on participating in Diabetes Art Day. Not that I didn't WANT to. I just knew we wouldn't have time this week to create, so I planned to sit this one out and enjoy everyone else's creations.
But this morning when I was doing my rounds, cleaning the house...I came upon this little sculpture. I took a picture as is. No rearranging. No planting specific items. Nope, this is what was sitting in our hall "Blood Sugar Station."
Art in its rawest form.
I call it, "A Long Night"
A picture really is worth a thousand words.

ReplyDelete. . . and only other D artists would understand. I hope you get some much needed rest, Friend!
ReplyDeleteThis is raw art. Poetic. It speaks VOLUMES.
ReplyDeleteThe art of life....thank you for sharing....and I hope tonight is better!!!!!
This is what we might call "found art." The beauty lies in its symbolism; all of those items are keeping your precious boys alive. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope tonight is not as long!
and on our long nights I'll remember this picture, knowing how we're really not alone in it...
ReplyDeleteThat pretty much sums it up! I love it!
ReplyDeleteYep, raw art. and WOW.
ReplyDeleteAnd dear god...that pudding takes me back to the damn roll in the hay with the chocolate pudding Meri...LOL...I hope tonight is better. I LOVE YOUR ART!!!! You, my friend are an artist without even trying!!!
ReplyDeleteA thousand words. And none of them nice. (((Hugs)))
ReplyDeletea long night, indeed. let's hope for a better one tonight.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I love the art, but I don't love that you had a long night! I hope tonight is a better one for you!
ReplyDeletePeople make careers of just photographing what's around them, so that's just as much art as anything else might be. It definitely conveys a lot about the chaos, how we just "throw" stuff at diabetes in an endless effort to keep it balanced, and how there's a wake of junk in the wake of those efforts. And by "junk", I don't just mean wrappers and trash...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you ran with the inspiration, and decided to participate in Diabetes Art Day. Thank you!
The reality of this is it's beauty.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the long night though.
Sadly I know what that picture means.
ReplyDeleteWe had a night like that last week - and it sucks!
